UNBOUND BATTLE

Battle weekend with workshops, jams and community talks. The categories of the battle are hip hop, popping and experimental. The local scene meets international artists, the program is open to everyone - whether as a participant or spectator. Let's build together!

UNBOUND is a 5-year program for the empowerment of young artists in the field of street dance culture, with a special focus on marginalized groups. In a model programme with labs, residencies, workshops and battles, we link RAMPE with its infrastructure and expertise in working in the independent performing arts, the Stuttgart-based association Underground Soul Cypher with its local networking and expertise in street dance culture and the supra-regional alliance United Networks with its formats and concepts tested in racialized and marginalized communities.

Our aim is to make established art spaces more accessible as spaces of opportunity for young, marginalized artists in order to enrich the cultural coexistence of the city in a sustainable and solidary way. In doing so, we want to create safer production conditions, critically question institutional structures and break open and expand the concept of dance and performance in established cultural institutions.
