On June 7, 2026, the motto of UNESCO World Heritage Day is "Together for Peace and Understanding".
In Germany, a total of 55 cultural and natural heritage sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. What the sites have in common is their outstanding universal value, i.e. their special significance not only for national or local communities, but for humanity as a whole.
The German Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO World Heritage Sites Germany Association invite all 55 World Heritage Sites in Germany to participate with hands-on activities, special tours and other events such as free special tours, concerts or hands-on activities for children and young people.
The Weissenhof Museum in the Le Corbusier House is participating with free admission, free guided tours and an exciting evening lecture on Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in India. Anyone interested in architecture is cordially invited to get to know the Weissenhof Estate (even better) during a visit to the Weissenhof Museum or on a guided tour of the listed estate. In the evening, we will take a look at India: the lecture "Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in India - Modernism as World Heritage" is dedicated to the famous planned city of Chandigarh and thus another site of the UNESCO World Heritage "The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier".
