Talk with Jörg Piringer, moderated by Carolin Callies

"artificial intelligence writes / or rather / i let it write", reveals Jörg Piringer in his poetry collection "günstige intelligenz" (2022). The Austrian poet is one of the pioneers at the interface between literature, music and technology and repeatedly explores what AI can do in his texts. With his new volume of poetry "verbrenner" in his luggage, published by Ritter Verlag in Klagenfurt in 2025, Piringer will deal with "minor cuts and burns", questions of ecology, fire as a transformer, energy generation and a "recipe for a hydrogen bomb". His text production is quite unique: how does controlled coincidence come into his writing? How do techno-poems or visual cyber poetry come about? And how does he transform the whole thing for the stage, given that Piringer is also part of an orchestra that makes music on musical instruments?
