Voices of Power - raising awareness of racism, power and power sharing in art and culture
The Empowerment Network BW presents its first public event Voices of Power!
A varied program is dedicated to artistic and cultural-political perspectives on power, racism and empowerment. The program includes the film "Skin Politics" (Oré Arts), panel talks from BIPoC* perspectives on racist power structures, sustainable empowerment and power sharing, as well as presentations and performances by network members, including Shivā Amiri and the ZEBRAS Collective. The musical finale will be provided by DJ Afropunk.
The event promotes the visibility of the diverse network and sensitizes the public - especially white people - to structural and cultural-political issues.
Target groups: BIPoC*, Allies and anyone interested in addressing issues of power, racism and empowerment in the cultural sector.
Note: The term BIPoC* (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) is used to name racialized perspectives and create visibility for different experiences of racism. Not everyone will identify with this term. All non-white people are therefore also addressed and invited - regardless of whether they identify with this term.
