How do we want to live in the future? This question is on the minds of many protesters who want to pave the way to a better future with their protests. In her work, the well-known literary scholar and English scholar Prof. Dr. Aleida Assmann focuses on the thesis that utopias do not work without looking at the past. In her book "Ist die Zeit aus den Fugen", she asks what perspective we live with and how our culture is shaped between a focus on the past and a vision of the future. In this lecture, the speaker will shed light on the connection between utopia, protest, reference to the past and a vision of the future.
