Christmas hit therapy
Do you feel the same way?
Do you open the newspaper, open the computer, turn on the TV or turn on the radio and despair at the same moment as all these channels try to convince you that the end of the world is imminent? Environmental disasters, war and terror wherever you look ...
And as if there weren't already enough horrors on our globe, Christmas comes around every year!
Requests to buy on every corner (which we of course dutifully obey), consumer and mulled wine frenzy, fairy lights and decoration irritations for the overstrained eye, "atmosphere!" & "contemplation!" in hearts completely out of sync with the "quietest time of the year", and - and this is probably the bitterest drop in the picksweet
Christmas punch - the poor ear, usually at the mercy of the environment, is relentlessly bombarded with acoustic phenomena that conjure up stars in some people's eyes, which are glazed with emotion, and cold beads of panic sweat on others' foreheads.
Wouldn't you just like to disconnect completely from the global Christmas machinery? Escape into the perfect world of the most beautiful hits of the 50s and 60s by Caterina, Vico, Connie and Peter, Udo and, of course, Peter the Great?
I sometimes feel that way and that's why we're having this special evening. Let's forget the worries of the world for a short while and surrender to our most wistful dreams - so that we can face reality with renewed vigor afterwards! If we're going to have kitsch, let's have really valuable kitsch! Pop therapy, so to speak.
And we can promise you this in advance: politics, Florian Silbereisen, Helene Fischer and Andreas Gabalier must stay outside! [Thomas Gansch]
Thomas Gansch - trumpet, flugelhorn, vocals
Sebastian Fuchsberger - vocals, trombone
Leonhard Paul - trombone, bass trumpet, vocals
Michael Hornek - piano, vocals
