"Come! Bring your burden." (Mt 11:28-30) is the promising motto of the women from Nigeria.Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa: with over 230 million people, the "African giant" unites over 250 ethnic groups with more than 500 spoken languages. The country is characterized by social, ethnic and religious tensions, and although Nigeria owes its economic strength to the oil industry, wealth and power are very unequally distributed. Environmental pollution from the oil industry and climate change lead to hunger, poverty, a lack of prospects and violence, and despite many existential worries, women from Nigeria celebrate a service of hope with us - with prayers, songs and touching life stories. They tell of the courage of single mothers, of strength through community, of faith in the midst of fear and of the strength to persevere and carry on even under the most difficult conditions.we hear the voices from Nigeria, are inspired by their strength and bring our own burdens before God: an invitation to solidarity, to prayer and to hope.be welcome, just as you are. - "Come!
