WGV Leichtathletik-Festival

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, the WGV Athletics Festival will take place on Stuttgart's market square. The occasion is the 75th anniversary of the Württemberg Athletics Association (WLV), which will be celebrated with a varied sports program in the center of the state capital.

The festival includes a street mile, a charity run, elite miles and elite men's and women's shot put, children's miles and junior shot put competitions. The highlight is the shot put competition in the specially constructed ring with a grandstand for around 500 spectators. Among others, Olympic champion Yemisi Ogunleye (MTG Mannheim) and world champion Niko Kappel (VfB Stuttgart) are expected to attend. The international, inclusive competition complies with the current regulations, is relevant to the world rankings and is record-breaking.
