Why do we actually have to work and go to school every day? What does money have to do with it and why do some people have a lot of it and others have little? Why is a lump of gold worth so much and a stone nothing? Ezra wants to know who came up with all this. One morning, he asks his mom: Why do we have to work? Why do we need money at all? She patiently explains everything she knows to him: what bills she has to pay every month, what an inheritance is, what capitalism means and why you can't just print money endlessly. Saskia Hödl studied journalism and media management and now works for DIE ZEIT, der Freitag and taz, among others. Her first children's non-fiction book "Steck mal in meiner Haut" (EMF 2022) became a bestseller. For her new book, she collected great questions from her children, among other things.
