Location:
Neckarinsel e.V., Schönestraße 32/3, 70372 Stuttgart
Date
July 5, 2026, 1:00 PM

Neckarinsel e.V. invites you to the "Wissenshappen" discussion format on Neckarinsel in Stuttgart. A fishbowl discussion will focus on conscious river bathing. The association will also be presenting its forecasting system for the Neckar. There will be water experiments for children.

Our cities are getting hotter and hotter, and there is an increasing lack of opportunities to cool off or they are not affordable for everyone. In the past, people used to bathe in rivers as a matter of course. Today, many places lack access to bodies of water, the water quality fluctuates and swimming is even prohibited in the Neckar in Stuttgart. If bathing in the river is still possible, bathers should be aware of the risks. But how can the situation be correctly assessed?

The "Wissenshappen" discussion format on the Neckar island explores this question. In addition to a fishbowl discussion, the association will present its new forecasting system for the water quality of the Stuttgart Neckar. Visitors of all ages can also experience the river and the water up close throughout the afternoon: Children will learn about the value of water in everyday life with water experiments. Young people and adults can change their perspective with the SUP and explore the river from the water.
