ALEXANDER HUBER
Time to breathe
Live photo & film show by and with Alexander Huber (Huberbuam)
Alexander Huber, one of the world's best-known and most successful all-round mountaineers, shows his deep connection to the mountains in "Time to Breathe". A passion that generates unforgettable memories, but also takes a lot of strength at times.
Alpinism has changed the way we see the mountains. Whereas the mountains used to be perceived as hostile and threatening, today this steep world is seen in a different light: the mountains as a place of self-discovery, a place of reflection where you can still find time to breathe. Over forty years ago, Reinhard Karl published his book "Erlebnis Berg: Zeit zum Atmen" (Mountain Experience: Time to Breathe) and was an inspiration for Alexander, as for many others of his generation, to seek adventure in the world of the mountains.
On the road in the Karakorum, beyond 6,000 meters, on the really big mountains, in the steep walls of the High Atlas and the Picos de Europa or in the even steeper rock of Sardinia, a climber's dream: "Time to Breathe" is a cross-section of the steep life in the mountains, as broad and diverse as the mountains are. Alexander has more than enough material to tell about his passion. The younger of the two "Huberbuam" shows his most beautiful and formative moments in the world of the mountains and captivates the audience with his stage presence. An experience of a special kind - arranged with fascinating film sequences, incredible images and steep music.
Alexander Huber
Born in 1968 in Chiemgau in Upper Bavaria, the certified mountain and ski guide decided in 1998 to give up his scientific career as a physicist and follow an unknown path in the mountains. Mountaineering in all its forms in various countries around the world is his passion. Through strength and willpower, he has been able to fulfill new dreams ever since. The eleventh grade in sport climbing, the first routes of this grade on alpine rock faces, the free climbing routes and speed records on the big walls of Yosemite, the first ascent of the west face of the seven-thousander Latok II and the free solo ascent of the Direttissima on the Große Zinne are the cornerstones of his life as a mountaineer.
Alexander and his brother Thomas are also successful public figures. In addition to books, it is above all the more than 1000 lectures with which the brothers inspire their audiences worldwide. Thanks to their mountaineering achievements and the countless articles published in the specialist press, the brothers are among the most successful mountaineers of our time. But they also inspire the general public, with articles in Spiegel, Stern, SZ, FAZ, BamS and numerous appearances on television such as Mittagsmagazin, Maischberger, Kerner, TV Total, Blickpunkt Sport, NDR Talkshow, Böttinger and ZIB, in which they talk about their border crossings. The feature film "Am Limit" was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize and the German Camera Prize and Thomas and Alexander were honored as ambassadors of Bavaria with the Bavarian Sports Prize.
