Beuren

Embedded in the intact landscape at the foot of the Swabian Alb, the young health resort Beuren lies below the second largest fortress in southern Germany, the Hohenneuffen, in the middle of a recreational landscape in which pure nature can be found.

Beuren offers the healthy mixture of an orchard, vineyard, pasture and forest landscape. The medium sized mountain location between 400 and 700 meters promise a mild and healthy climate.

History
As early as in the middle ages, Beuren was known as a tourist location, place of pilgrimage with a chapel on the Engelberg, wine location with two wine presses and bathing resort with a bathing pool for the pilgrims.

In the year 1971, the bathing tradition in Beuren could be filled with new life when a deep drilling team, under the turf in the upper calc deposits 755 meters deep, found a 48.3 degree hot mineral source rich in carbonic acid with the components sodium-calcium-chloride-sulfate-hydrogen carbonate - a horror to the demons that cause rheumatism. With a second drilling, from the rhaetian sandstone from a depth of 381.5 meters, 38.5 degree warm water with the components sodium-hydrogen carbonate was brought to the surface. With the construction of a thermal outdoor pool in the year 1972, the cornerstone for the development to the health center "Panorama Therme Beuren" was laid. In the year 1977, the thermal bath Beuren was opened with 4 thermal water pools. In the year 1980, through the construction of a therapy department, the title "State recognized recreational town with mineral spring - health resort operations" could be reached.

With the expansion of the offers in the thermal bath Beuren through the construction of a further cold water outdoor pool, two further thermal outdoor pools, a thermal grotto, a modern therapy department and a steam bath and sauna landscape, the development of the former thermal bath Beuren to the health center Panorama Therme Beuren could be completed.
