Literaturhaus Stuttgart

The Literaturhaus opened in 2001 with a speech by W.G. Sebald. The historic, landmark-protected building, featuring a historic Pater Noster elevator and an atrium, is located across from the Liederhalle and is part of the Bosch complex. On the ground floor, visitors will find the Literaturhaus café and a small bookstore. The first floor houses the event spaces, including the Great Hall, seminar rooms, and the former study of company founder Robert Bosch—all of which are available for rent.

Whether it’s Orhan Pamuk, Anna Katharina Hahn, or Monika Rinck; whether there are 1,800, 180, or 18 attendees; whether the focus is on architecture or animated film; whether it’s matinees or late-night studio events—the Literaturhaus Stuttgart opens its doors approximately 120 times a year: The spectrum ranges from literary texts under the magnifying glass of a single event to the “burning” issues of the day, which are brought into the house in the form of international festivals or focused series. The Literaturhaus, a listed historic building, offers not only plenty of space for literature but also for a whole range of events! Corporate presentations, press conferences, conferences, and meetings—as well as private parties—all find a setting here that blends the grandeur of a world stage with the intimacy of a workshop.
