Plochingen
Theatre performances in the civic centre, exhibitions in the municipal art gallery or concerts – Plochingen has lots to offer in the way of culture.
The city's recreational areas, the Schurwald forest and the Swabian Alb, are only minutes away. The Bruckenwasen Landscape Park on the meadows bordering the R. Neckar was designed for the State Horticultural Show of 1998. Its playgrounds, boccia pitch, skatepark, climbing wall, steam railway and beer garden provide leisure options for the whole family. The riverside promenade and cycle tracks offer an ideal opportunity to explore and enjoy the scenery along the Neckar.
Not to be missed: the Hundertwasser House, the marketplace with its beautiful timbered buildings, and public toilets with a difference – created in 2007 by Tomi Ungerer as "les toilettes".
