Wine Experience / The Romans

The area around Bad Cannstatt was already popular with the Romans because of the ideal conditions it offers for the more demanding varieties of grapes. And it still continues to produce outstanding wines today. To Bad Cannstatt’s vintners, quality has priority over quantity, and their vineyards are found in only the best locations. At the Weinfactum eG, you can sample exquisite wines during a wine tasting while enjoying the view over the vineyards at the same time.

It’s also well worth taking a short stroll through the Römerkastell (formerly the site of a Roman fort and later military barracks) and the adjoining travertine park. The former travertine quarries have now been incorporated into a green area where industrial history can be relived.
