Weingut Hans-Peter Wöhrwag
The Wöhrwag family is now in its sixth generation of winegrowing in the Stuttgart suburb of Untertürkheim. Hans-Peter Wöhrwag runs the winery together with his wife Christin with great dedication and the aim of "building" exceptional wines rather than exceptional cars.
The sunny slopes of the Herzogenberg rise up from the Neckar valley, where around 20 hectares of vines are cultivated. Natural viticulture is as much a matter of course as the renunciation of high yields in order to be able to harvest fully ripened grapes. White and red wines are almost equally important in terms of quantity. However, the main focus is on the Riesling grape variety. The wines should be elegant, full of finesse and stimulating. The cool fermentation of the white wines is just as important as the classic mash fermentation including cold maceration of all red wines. Whether these are then matured in stainless steel tanks, large wooden barrels or small barriques depends on the grape variety and quality. Each wine should also always serve as a reflection of its vintage and the particular climatic characteristics of the year.
The winery also has a wine shop.
