Theodor Fischer built the building in Romanesque-lyric style in 1912 for the donor Julie Siegle. Her husband was Gustav Siegle, co-founder of BASF, privy councillor of commerce and member of the Reichstag.
The Gustav Siegle House was used for public education purposes until the foundation's assets were used up after the Second World War and the building was sold to the city.
Today, the Gustav Siegle House is home to the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kunstbezirk gallery and the BIX jazz club.
