Heslacher Wasserfälle

This Way

in 4.3 Kilometer Start Route

Waterfalls in Stuttgart? Yes, you read that right. In the Heidenklinge, a steep valley in the south of Stuttgart, you will come across waterfalls.

The Heslacher waterfalls were created over 500 years ago when Stuttgart suffered from a lack of water. To counteract this, Duke Christoph von Württemberg had an 805-metre-long tunnel built, which diverted the water from the park lakes above (Pfaffensee, Bärensee and Neuer See) through the natural gradient to the Nesenbach stream.

You can explore this little natural spectacle (in fact, it is man-made) in conjunction with a tour through the forest. However, the hike there is very steep and, depending on the weather, more or less slippery. Sturdy footwear, a good level of fitness and alpine hiking experience are therefore essential.
