Santiago-de-Chile-Square

This Way

in 2.1 Kilometer Start Route

At Santiago de Chile Square, the city is at your feet: you have a wonderful view of Stuttgart's cauldron.

There has been a Chilean consulate in Stuttgart since the end of the 1980s; the honorary consul is the architect Georg Kieferle. On his initiative, the square on the Haigst was renamed Santiago de Chile Square. He also donated the Chilean statues, a Moai from Easter Island, the bust of the Nobel Prize winner for literature Gabriela Mistral and a stone from the Maipo Valley.

By the way: In Santiago de Chile, there is a counterpart, the "Plaza Stuttgart"...
