Travertine Park

This Way

in 5.4 Kilometer Start Route

For many centuries travertine, a sedimentary rock originating from Stuttgart’s prolific mineral water resources, was quarried here. The former quarries have now been incorporated into a green area where industrial history can be relived. Old stone-cutting equipment, crane tracks and rails have remained as features of the park. Easy paths lead through the biotope, which affords a wonderful view over Bad Cannstatt.
