The 20th Day of City History on Sat 8.11.2025 1-5 pm in the city archive has as its theme: "Outdoor art. Public works and monuments in Stuttgart". There will be contributions from specialist speakers and short reports from the city districts.
The Stuttgart City History Working Group has been organizing the "City History Day" for many years.
Important topics from Stuttgart are discussed on the basis of fundamental lectures, studies from the city districts and (in "even" years) an exhibition.
The "Day" also serves as a forum for exchange between the history associations, initiatives and people interested in our city.
-----------------------
Art changes the urban space, enters into a relationship with its surroundings and the people who move around in it. Art decorates, stimulates, reminds, makes areas unmistakable. Three fundamental lectures by renowned experts provide a broad overview of the topic, present typical Stuttgart aspects and shed light on the specific restoration conditions for open-air art. Finally, short lectures will focus on local considerations.
