#33 ABSCHLUSSKONZERT: BACH MESSE H-MOLL
- Location:
- Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle Stuttgart Beethoven-Saal, Berliner Platz 3, 70174 Stuttgart
The Mass in B minor is considered one of the most monumental and at the same time most enigmatic works in music history. Why did Johann Sebastian Bach - a Protestant - dedicate himself to a large-scale Catholic mass at the end of his life? This sonorous legacy is stylistically extremely multifaceted, a compendium of his skills. Nevertheless, Bach succeeds in creating a coherent whole.
Hans-Christoph Rademann has long been involved with this highly virtuosic and demanding music, particularly with the profound meaning of the liturgical texts and their tonal design. His personal interpretation of Bach's pinnacle work with the first-class soloists and ensembles of the Gaechinger Cantorey promises a deeply impressive listening experience and forms the crowning finale of the Bach Festival.
