54. Stuttgarter Advents-Singen
- Location:
- Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle, Berliner Platz 1-3, 70174 Stuttgart
Rare instruments such as the Egerland bagpipes, the dulcimer, and the harp, as well as violins, flutes, woodwinds, and brass will conjure up a pre-Christmas atmosphere in the Mozart Hall on the second Sunday of Advent, accompanying the choir—conducted by Gerlind Preisenhammer—as they perform long-forgotten songs from across the German-speaking world, as well as a few songs from our neighboring country, the Czech Republic, this year. From heartfelt Marian hymns to joyful nativity scenes, the program explores the various moods of the Advent and Christmas seasons. Readings complement the program, and of course, the audience is invited to sing along.
