Harry and Lore have been married for 40 years—more or less happily. Their daughter’s wedding reignites their love and passion once again.
Hartmut Volle is known for his roles in the TV series “Tatort” and “Rentnercops”; he was also part of the ensemble cast of “Monsieur Claude and His Daughters” at the Komödie im Marquardt. Sabine Bräuning most recently portrayed the headstrong Mamy in “Die acht Frauen.” Together, the two bring to life a captivating married couple on stage who have not yet forgotten what love is.
The play is based on a novel by one of the most influential cultural voices in the German-speaking world: Elke Heidenreich. The writer, literary critic, and journalist co-authored the book with her former partner, Bernd Schroeder. They tell the story of a married couple in which an entire generation can recognize itself. When asked about her marriage to her co-author, Elke Heidenreich said: “We had twenty happy years, five brave ones, two horrible ones, and now we have our peace.”
In 2019, Elke Heidenreich’s novel was adapted for the stage and can now be seen for the first time on a Stuttgart stage in a production directed by Heinz Kreidl.
