ANOUK – The Children’s Musical
Based on the best-selling children’s books of the same name by Hendrikje Balsmeyer and Peter Maffay
Book: Georg Veit & Hendrikje Balsmeyer, Music: Peter Maffay & Friends
Discover ANOUK, the new and eagerly anticipated children’s musical for the whole
family. Based on the popular children’s books by Hendrikje Balsmeyer and Peter Maffay,
an impressive production for children ages four and up is currently being created.
Anouk is a lovable and helpful girl. However, there’s one thing she
doesn’t like at all: going to bed! Her parents are all the more surprised when Anouk suddenly
goes to bed in the evening, full of anticipation. What they don’t know: Every night, a
magical door opens to a world full of fantasy and adventure for Anouk. She experiences exciting
adventures, joins pirates on a treasure hunt, overcomes challenges in the jungle, and
meets colorful characters at the fair. Along the way, Anouk makes new friends and
helps other children through difficult and challenging situations. When she tells her parents
about her nighttime adventures the next day, they always say, “Sweetheart, you
only dreamed all that!” But Anouk has “proof” that this isn’t true. And her grandma
seems to know more about it...
ANOUK—The Children’s Musical whisks explorers of all ages away into an imaginative world
full of adventure, where anything seems possible. With its characters and fascinating
settings, the stage adaptation sparks the imagination and strengthens the belief in
the power of dreams. The script was written by Georg Veit and Hendrikje
Balsmeyer, while Peter Maffay and his team are responsible for the musical arrangement.
At the heart of the musical are ten rousing and sophisticated
children’s songs by Peter Maffay & Friends, most of which were composed specifically for this
production and contribute to its unique atmosphere. The audience
is whisked away into a world full of fantasy and adventure, where friendship, courage, and tolerance
take center stage. The stage adaptation remains faithful to the successful children’s books and
conveys their valuable messages. The set design combines traditional and modern
elements. The imaginative costumes allow the six performers to take on over 20
different roles. A sophisticated lighting design highlights the action
and creates an impressive atmosphere.
