With ANTHEMS, Gauthier Dance celebrates its Artist in Residence, Barak Marshall, in two distinct ways: two pieces, two companies, one unmistakable artistic vision—brought together in an evening that showcases just how powerful, moving, and captivating contemporary dance can be.

The hit production by Gauthier Dance JUNIORS//Theaterhaus Stuttgart, which received an enthusiastic reception at the COLOURS International Dance Festival 2025, returns to the main stage. With a wonderful mix of slapstick, humorous exaggeration, fairy-tale imagery, and a dash of audience participation, Barker tells a story that touches all generations: eight servants, a tyrannical mistress—and the courage to stand up together. A piece that shows just how much power lies in solidarity and humor.

Created in 2012 as an anniversary production for Ballets Jazz Montréal, *Harry* quickly became one of star choreographer Barak Marshall’s most beloved works. Now it returns, freshly revised and tailor-made for the 16 dancers of Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart. Look forward to an irresistibly danceable soundtrack brimming with the swing of the 1920s and 1930s, a piece that sparkles with imagination, energy, and humor, and a story that touches the heart. Harry is a hero who refuses to be defeated—not by gods, not by fate, not even by his own death. Out of pure love, he defies all boundaries. An ode to humanity, full of passion and warmth.
