„Argonauten der Schwarzmeerküste „Euxeinos Pontos“ – Geschichte, Kultur und Tradition

Location:
StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart, Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 2, 70173 Stuttgart
Date
June 13, 2025, 7:00 PM

The Pontiaki Estia Stuttgart association preserves the traditions of the Pontos Greeks through cultural activities. As part of the exhibition "In the Name of Freedom", the association presents the history, culture and traditions of the Pontos Greeks in the StadtPalais with a folklore evening of dance, music and lectures.

The Pontos Greeks are the descendants of the ancient Greeks who settled in the historical landscape of today's eastern Turkish Black Sea coast as far as neighboring parts of Georgia and the Caucasus region.

The exhibition "In the Name of Freedom" sheds light on the connection between Stuttgart and the Greek Revolution of 1821, showing how the Swabian "philhellenes" supported the Greek struggle for freedom and showed solidarity with Greek refugees.

Admission to the event and the exhibition is free. The exhibition can be visited until 9 pm on the evening of the event. (Long Friday!)
