"Humans of Stuttgart" is showing large-format photos and personal stories in the StadtPalais gallery from 10.10. to 30.11.2025. Over 20 young people with a history of migration and flight have already presented 70 portraits of Stuttgart residents on Instagram. Now they can be seen in the museum.
The Humans of Stuttgart exhibition brings new perspectives and voices from the city to the StadtPalais gallery.
The large-format photographs and personal texts tell the story of Stuttgart from the perspective of its inhabitants - authentic, diverse and at eye level. The project follows its own vision: Stuttgart is told from new perspectives and the participants become active shapers of their city.
The portraits show moments of everyday life, friendship and community - but also experiences of flight, war, exclusion and new beginnings. Together, they highlight the diversity and vibrancy of the Stuttgart region.
A selection of these portraits is now being exhibited in the Stadtpalais. The opening of the exhibition invites you to an artistic and communal evening that brings the stories behind the stories and the project to life. Together with the participants, we will provide insights into the creation of the project, listen to voices and stories from the project and present the accompanying photo book for the first time. Afterwards, we will explore the exhibition and round off the evening with discussions.
Humans of Stuttgart is a project by the transcultural artists' collective Literally Peace e.V.
The association was founded in 2017 and has since stood for artistic expression, empowerment and dialog across borders and languages.
The exhibition is open until 22:00 on the opening evening.
The Humans of Stuttgart project is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration and the Action Fund of the Partnership for Democracy Stuttgart as part of the federal program Demokratie leben!
