Carte Blanche#2

Location:
Gustav-Siegle-Haus Stuttgart, Leonhardsplatz 28, 70182 Stuttgart

For the CARTE BLANCHE series, the Stuttgart Philharmonic invites guests who have distinguished themselves as soloists in the orchestra’s major concerts. We have asked them to present a more or less spontaneous, intimate chamber music concert for us and our audience. We will announce the exact programs in due course.

Christian Lindberg and Peter Moore are stars of the international trombone scene. Lindberg opened up a new repertoire for the instrument: since there were hardly any suitable works available, he began composing himself and commissioned pieces to be written for him.
Today, he is known not only as a trombone virtuoso but also as a conductor. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned orchestras worldwide and premiered numerous new works. At the age of twelve, Peter Moore (born in 1996) made his debut as a soloist at the BBC Proms. He won the “BBC Young Musician” competition and quickly gained international recognition. Having served as principal trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra until 2019, he now performs internationally as a freelance musician.

Moore (as trombonist) and Lindberg (as conductor) will perform together on Saturday, December 12, as part of the Stuttgart Philharmonic’s “Große Reihe” series, presenting Jan Sandström’s trombone concerto “Motorbike Odyssey” in the Beethoven Hall of the Liederhalle.
