Kick-off event at the Linden Museum for the e-learning course China Competence
As an economic and political heavyweight in the international arena, China is increasingly becoming the focus of European and German attention. The contradictory image of the threat of dependency and the danger of China towards China as an indispensable cooperation partner in economic, global and climate policy issues creates an ambivalence that is difficult to categorize without knowledge of the region.
The four-week course aims to bring citizens into contact with China and to give them the opportunity to develop a differentiated picture of China with regard to the ambivalent media image. China literacy is understood here as the development of a skill that enables an informed discussion and independent evaluation of topics relating to China.
This e-learning course provides you with an overview of the key topics that contribute to an understanding of China. These consist of a basic knowledge of the history and characteristics of the Chinese cultural area, the functioning of state and social institutions, as well as knowledge of further sources of information, i.e. China-related media skills.
At the kick-off event at the Linden Museum, participants will have the opportunity to get to know each other and the management team personally and to get to grips with the content of the China literacy topic through the specialist presentations. An introduction to the learning environment prepares participants for the subsequent online phase.
