The arena show will be coming to seven more German cities as well as Vienna in the spring of 2027.
“OVO,” Cirque du Soleil’s acclaimed arena show, offers a fast-paced, colorful, and humorous kaleidoscope of outstanding artistic perfection. The world of insects, with its immense diversity, provides an ironic blueprint for the action on stage, which resembles a hive of acrobatics and comedy. The lively, high-contrast swarm in dazzling costumes and vibrant sets is great fun for the whole family. “OVO,” which redefines the limits of the human body, will now also be performing in Hanover, Frankfurt, Bremen, Hamburg, Vienna, Leipzig, Cologne, and Nuremberg in the spring of 2027.
The audience is plunged headfirst into a cosmos teeming with life. Loud, turbulent scenes alternate with quiet, emotional moments. A mysterious, giant egg poses a riddle for all the actors, performers, and clowns in their insect costumes and characters. Mighty crickets are catapulted into the air from the trampoline, and a hypnotic spider contorts itself in its web until it’s unrecognizable.
“OVO,” which means “egg” in Portuguese, is a timeless symbol that runs like a common thread through the spectacle. Amid all the crawling and flying creatures, love naturally plays a key role when the formidable ladybug falls for the lively, mysterious fly. And as always with Cirque du Soleil, “OVO” is packed with artistic feats of the highest caliber.
