“OVO,” Cirque du Soleil’s acclaimed arena show, offers a fast-paced, colorful, and humorous kaleidoscope of outstanding artistic perfection. The world of insects, with its immense diversity, provides an ironic blueprint for the action on stage, which resembles a hive of acrobatics and comedy. The lively, high-contrast swarm in dazzling costumes and vibrant sets is a delightful treat for the whole family.
Due to its immense popularity, additional performances will take place in Munich on Friday, January 29, 27, at 4:00 p.m., and in Stuttgart on Friday, February 12, 27, at 4:00 p.m.
The audience is plunged headfirst into a cosmos teeming with life. Loud, turbulent scenes alternate with quiet, emotional moments. A mysterious, giant egg poses a riddle to all the actors, performers, and clowns in their insect costumes and characters.
Massive crickets are catapulted into the air from a trampoline, and a hypnotic spider contorts itself in its web until it is unrecognizable.
“OVO,” which means “egg” in Portuguese, is a timeless symbol that runs like a common thread through the spectacle. Amid all the crawling and flying creatures, love naturally plays a central role when the formidable ladybug falls for the lively, mysterious fly. And as always with Cirque du Soleil, “OVO” is packed with extraordinary artistic feats.
