Claudia Michelsen

Location:
Renitenztheater, Büchsenstr. 26, 70174 Stuttgart

On this special evening, let yourself be swept away into the fascinating world of the writer, pilot, adventurer, and humanist Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and join him on a journey to the stars and to the essence of life. As the multi-award-winning actress Claudia Michelsen weaves together “Wind, Sand, and Stars” and the timeless reflections from the 20th century’s most famous story, “The Little Prince.”
Two stories that Saint-Exupéry wrote after his 1935 plane crash in the Libyan Sahara, which he barely survived. Inspired by the intense moments between the starry sky and the sand, life and death. Claudia Michelsen brings both voices together this evening. First, the pilot who truly knew what it meant to be lost and to be rescued, and then the story that emerged from that experience.
Look forward to one of the greatest treasures of world literature—a deeply moving reading about friendship, adventure, responsibility, and what remains invisible to the eye. For “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Claudia Michelsen, born in Dresden and trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, is one of Germany’s most distinguished actresses. For her role in “Der Turm,” she was awarded the Grimme Prize and the Golden Camera in 2013; a year later, she received the Grimme Prize a second time for “Grenzgang.” She is familiar to a wide audience as investigator Doreen Brasch in the Magdeburg-based “Polizeiruf 110” and from the “Ku’damm” series. As a narrator, she has recorded numerous audiobooks. Her voice carries the evening on its own—without a set, without interludes—just the words and a narrator who knows when to let them rest.
