Crip Wisdom – Neue Wege des künstlerischen Arbeitens

What happens when art is not only made by people with disabilities, but is also conceived and designed from their perspective?

Not as a special case. Not as a participation project. But as an artistic practice in its own right. In this workshop, we will explore the question of how art changes when we not only break down barriers, but completely redesign the rules of the game ourselves. And what can we learn from the concept of crip wisdom - knowledge that arises from living with disabilities: through improvisation, creativity, resilience, care structures and constantly navigating an often non-accessible world? A workshop for anyone who wants to be touched by new forms of artistic thinking.

Lecturers
Aaron Smith's research focuses on the relationship between disability and theater. Born in Berlin, he studied acting and theater in Massachusetts, New York, Arizona and London. He was a member of the ensemble at Theater RambaZamba in Berlin, where he also took part in a workshop for people with disabilities. He currently works part-time as a theater mediator at Schauspiel Stuttgart and also works freelance - with a focus on inclusive theater practices and artistic participation.
