You may not be allowed to swim in the Neckar yet, but you can still enjoy the river with a SUP or canoe on the water. The Neckarinsel e.V. therefore invites you to a joint paddling event with Critical Nass. The event starts on the Neckar island at the Bad Cannstatt lock.

On two Sundays in 2026, people will once again venture from the island onto the river. The aim of Critical Nass is to draw attention to the fact that Stuttgart is a city on the river - and that the potential of the Neckar for a city worth living in is far from exhausted.
Even if swimming in the Neckar is currently not permitted, it can already be experienced from a SUP or canoe. Cooling off and a special perspective of the city included.

The tour takes you from the Neckar island at the Bad Cannstatt lock to the Hechtkopf and back for a relaxed two hours.

So grab your SUPs and inflatable boats. This will bring life to the Neckar.
If you don't have your own SUP, you can hire a limited number of SUPs directly from the Neckar island.
Please register to take part in Critical Nass using the form on the website. Here you can also indicate whether you would like to hire a SUP.
