“A Friend, a Good Friend,” “Darling, My Heart Sends You Greetings”—enjoy this well-known musical comedy, based on the sound film operetta of the same name and featuring its timeless hits, with the whole family this Christmas season.

The three friends Willy, Kurt, and Hans are on the verge of bankruptcy. No home, no money—everything has been seized. As operators of a gas station, the trio now hopes to make a comeback in the working world. But then the charming Lilian Coßmann gets in their way. Independently of one another, the three friends fall in love with the enchanting young woman. This puts their friendship to a severe test.

Look forward to a new production by Ulrich Wiggers, who has won numerous awards for his work in musical theater. At the Altes Schauspielhaus, he and his set designer Leif-Erik Heine have already impressed audiences with their interpretations of classics such as “Der zerbrochne Krug,” “Kabale und Liebe,” and “Cyrano de Bergerac.”

A vocally talented ensemble takes you on a musical journey back in time to the 1930s. Some of Werner Richard Heymann’s compositions became world-famous after artists such as the “Comedian Harmonists” adopted them. In the leading roles, you’ll see Peter Lewys Preston, who has appeared on our stages on several occasions; Gideon Rapp, one of our established stars; and, making his debut, Tomas Stitilis.
