Leoš Janáček's The Cunning Vixen from 1924 is his most personal stage work and a poetic-philosophical parable about desire, transience and the cycle of life. In Stephan Kimmig's acclaimed Stuttgart production, liveliness becomes the inner drive of the evening, which defines both humans and animals alike. The vixen appears as the indomitable female counterpart, a force that challenges order and awakens longing. Natasha Te Rupe-Wilson can be seen as the Vixen this season, Diana Haller and Ida Ränzlöv share the role of the Fox and Paweł Konik once again embodies the Forester. The choir, children's choir and state orchestra perform under the direction of Killian Farrell.
