Dr. Emir

Emir—a man, a name. Some also say “the Emir,” “this Emir,” or “Mr. Emir,” and this very same Emir could also be addressed as “Dr. Emir,” because as a food chemist with a Ph.D., he’s not only got wisdom to spare, but everything else as well.
A native of Nuremberg, he sees Middle Franconia as the “Kurdistan of Bavaria,” yet he is by no means at odds with Bavarian traditions. Rather, he is a bridge-builder and connector between cultures and people, between the East and the West, between Franconia and Bavaria, between Bavaria and the rest of the

Join Dr. Emir in experiencing the “Elisenlebkuchen” of German comedians: an intercultural spice blend of anise, cloves, coriander, cardamom, allspice, and cinnamon (also known in baker’s jargon as

Emir Puyan Taghikhani, born in Nuremberg in 1990 to an Iranian father and a Turkish mother, has already appeared on TV on Bayerischer Rundfunk, NDR, SWR, and Sky1. In 2018, he was awarded first prize at the Thurn und Taxis Cabaret Competition in Regensburg, and in 2019, he won
the Kulmbacher Kleinkunst-Brettla by popular vote. He currently appears regularly as a guest on the Quatsch Comedy Club’s live shows and is on tour with his show “Die Chemie muss stimmen.”
