Electric Light Orchestra Exp. featuring Phil Bates & Cutting Crew
CUTTING CREW:
I Just Died In Your Arms
I’ve Been in Love Before
One for the Mockingbird
Any Color
The Scattering
CUTTING CREW was founded in 1985 by Nick van Eede. Together with guitarist Kevin Scott MacMichael, drummer Martin Beedle, and bassist Colin Farley, CUTTING CREW released their debut album, *Broadcast*, in 1986.
The multi-platinum album included, among others, the smash hit “(I Just) Died In Your Arms,” which topped the charts worldwide for months and earned the band a Grammy nomination. But songs like “I’ve Been in Love Before,” “One for the Mockingbird,” and “The Scattering” also made it into the Top 10. Unfortunately, the band broke up in 1993.
However, the CUTTING CREW was revived in 2006 and has since been performing worldwide every year—in various lineups—at open-air events, festivals, and indoor venues. The CUTTING CREW’s performances consistently exceed expectations and thrill audiences and the media alike. Nick Eede is the quintessential, charismatic frontman who captivates the audience, and his longtime guitarist Gareth Moulton, a guitar virtuoso, are the heart of the CUTTING CREW.
In 2027, two original band members—Martin “Frosty” Beedle and Colin Farley—will return. And that’s not all—a new CUTTING CREW album featuring this lineup is set to be released in early 2027. In 2027, the CUTTING CREW will once again delight audiences around the world with the best songs from their six albums to date.
2027 Lineup:
Nick Eede (Vocals)
Gareth Moulton (Vocals, Guitars)
Tom Arnold (Vocals, Keyboards)
Colin Farley (
) Martin ‘Frosty’ Beedle (Drums)

Electric Light Orchestra Experience feat. Phil Bates:
Phil Bates—the former lead singer and guitarist of ELO (Electric Light Orchestra, Part II)—performs all the hits
All Over The World
Rock ’n’ Roll Is King
Calling America
Xanadu
Hold On Tight
Don’t Bring Me Down
…and many more…
Phil Bates was born in Tamworth, England, and began his musical career at age 12. Many years later—in 1978, to be exact—he performed with his band Trickster as the opening act on the legendary ELO “Spaceship World Tour.”
In the ’80s and ’90s, he also worked with artists such as Billy Ocean and Alvin Stardust.
In 1993, Phil Bates became the lead singer and guitarist for Electric Light Orchestra Part II, the official successor to the Electric Light Orchestra led by Bev Bevan.
With ELO Part II, Phil Bates toured the world. When Bev Bevan sold the ELO naming rights to Jeff Lynne in 1999, the band was renamed “The Orchestra”; Phil remained the lead singer and guitarist until 2011.
Since 2011, he has carried on the ELO legacy with his own band. Now that Jeff Lynne has retired in 2025, the ELO Experience show with Phil Bates is the only live performance of these great ELO songs worldwide.
With over 1,000 concerts across many continents, Phil demonstrates the incredible magic that ELO’s music still holds for people around the world.
