He is one of the most influential European politicians of recent decades. Shaped by a childhood spent in Paris and Frankfurt, by his parents’ flight and exile, and by his search for a sense of belonging, Cohn-Bendit recounts his eventful life—from the Odenwald School through May ’68 in Paris to his work in establishing the Green Party in Germany and his years in the European Parliament. In his book, co-authored with journalist Marion Van Renterghem, the former “Red Dany” does not come across as a hero, but rather as a reflective European who grapples with family traumas, political conflicts, and the ruptures in his life story.
Daniel Cohn-Bendit, who met Hannah Arendt in person and recounts this experience as part of the production *Zwischen zwei Menschen entsteht manchmal, wie selten, eine Welt* ( ), is now a guest at the Schauspiel Stuttgart, where he will be in conversation with Artistic Director Burkhard C. Kosminski. *
* by and with Daniel Cohn-Bendit
