"Familie Anschlag" – Das Leben als Andere
- Location:
- Theater der Altstadt, Rotebühlstr. 89, 70178 Stuttgart
It is 3:00 a.m. on October 18, 2011, when the GSG-9 counterterrorism unit storms a house in Balingen and arrests the unassuming engineer Andreas Anschlag. Shortly before that, his wife Heidrun is also taken by surprise by the SEK in Marburg while she is sending what turns out to be her last radio message to Moscow for the time being.
“The Anschlag Family—A Life as Others” tells a true story: Under the guise of a respectable family, a couple of agents trained in the Soviet Union spent years passing EU and NATO secrets to Putin’s intelligence services.
The play traces the Anschlags’ complex life story, from their training to their trial in Stuttgart. It places the perspective of their unsuspecting daughter—who knew nothing of her parents’ double life—at the center of the narrative.
