"GESTURES OF HISTORY" is a journey through time exploring the cultural history of the Deaf community in Baden-Württemberg. Four individuals from different periods of contemporary history invite us to immerse ourselves in their lived realities and look toward the future with us. The time travelers are accompanied and guided by an inclusive sign language ensemble.
Recommended for ages 14 and up.
CONTENT NOTES
The performance addresses themes of discrimination against deaf and hard-of-hearing people, Nazism, violence, forced sterilization, and grief.
Strong bass and vibration effects are used.
