Halsweh und Heiterkeit

Location:
FITZ Das Theater animierter Formen, Eberhardstr. 61, 70173 Stuttgart

An Ode to Misunderstanding
Sound, Object, and Clown Theater for Adults

Misunderstanding: It is the starting point of tragic conflicts, fuels power struggles, erects barriers, fosters loneliness, and is the root of disappointment. Such is its bad reputation.

But misunderstanding also holds an opportunity: to take a detour together, to be surprised, and to discover new perspectives. We can start by listening, even if we’re probably misunderstanding what’s being said. We can keep the conversation going, even if the outcome is uncertain.

“Sore Throat and Cheerfulness” explores the pitfalls of communication. Language, voice, and misunderstandings become the raw material. From the karaoke machine to the hair dryer to the tin can telephone, the play explores the nature of communication. Persistent attempts alternate with masterful failures—a clownish game of crossing boundaries in the best sense of the word.

Concept, Play Development, Performance: Lee Subi and Posenenske Jo | Concept, Play Development, Outside Perspective: Schrörs Franz | Production Management: Ha Ji-hyun and Brühl Nicole
