Helene Bockhorst has done it: finally healed, finally successful!
The only question is, how will the master of ruthless self-criticism cope
with the fact that she now actually thinks she’s pretty okay? And what is there
left to make fun of once you’ve reached the very top—but
don’t want to kick anyone while they’re down?
“Ausgesorgt” is about humanity’s true final boss: one’s own
emotions. How many minutes a week should you spend getting annoyed, according to WHO recommendations? When will there finally be subtitles for emotions? Is it better to feel fear than
to feel nothing at all? And do we really have to let a little brain chemistry
dictate how we feel?
In an emotional roller coaster ride through the human psyche, the
audience is lovingly shaken up and, by the end, will not only have laughed uncontrollably
but also been amazed, moved, and perhaps even found a
better connection to their own emotional world.
An evening of absurd observations of everyday life, self-reflection, and the
realization that while one may be financially secure—emotionally, however,
at least in this world, that’s certainly not guaranteed.
