A project by Literally Peace e.V.
"Humans of Stuttgart" is a project by the transcultural artists' collective Literally Peace e.V. from Stuttgart. Since its foundation in 2017, the association has stood for artistic expression, empowerment and dialog across borders and languages. Inspired by the world-famous Humans of New York, the project pursues its own vision: Stuttgart is told from new perspectives - honest, personal and approachable.
Making diversity visible
The portraits tell of everyday life and work, of friendship and community - but also of experiences of war, flight, exclusion and new beginnings. Some voices are quiet, others loud. Together, they make visible how diverse and vibrant the Stuttgart region is.
"Humans of Stuttgart" stands for genuine participation rather than mere representation. The project gives a voice to people who often remain invisible in the public eye and turns them into active shapers of their urban society. Encounters like this create empathy and solidarity and open up new perspectives.
Funding
"Humans of Stuttgart" is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration and the Action Fund of the Partnership for Democracy Stuttgart as part of the federal program Demokratie leben!
