IBA’27 – International Building Exhibition in Stuttgart and the Region
The International Building Exhibition 2027 (IBA’27) will transform Stuttgart and the surrounding region into a showcase for the future of building, living, and working from April 24 to October 30, 2027. 100 years after the Weissenhofsiedlung, IBA’27 will showcase what a livable and innovative urban region of tomorrow could look like. Unlike a traditional exhibition, the projects will take place where the future is already taking shape—in neighborhoods, on former industrial sites, and at notable architectural landmarks.
A highlight is the 100th anniversary of the Weissenhofsiedlung. The settlement—part of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and its surroundings will become central hubs of the exhibition year, featuring the new Weissenhof.Forum and the Brenzkirche.
The IBA’27 in Stuttgart-Rot demonstrates how sustainable neighborhoods are created through new forms of housing, affordable housing, and attractive open spaces. At the Vaihingen Campus, visitors can experience the construction of tomorrow—from robot-assisted manufacturing to innovative building materials. At the Neckarspinnerei in Wendlingen, a historic industrial site is being transformed into a vibrant neighborhood that combines living, working, and leisure.
In the heart of Stuttgart, the central IBA exhibition invites visitors to interactively explore the ideas and projects of the International Building Exhibition. The program is complemented by guided tours, workshops, exhibitions, and events at numerous project sites throughout Stuttgart and the surrounding region.
Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast, an urban explorer, or someone interested in the future—IBA’27 offers exciting insights into the city of tomorrow and makes Stuttgart and the surrounding region a unique destination for anyone who wants to experience architecture, innovation, and sustainable urban development.
