Actor Boris R. Hauck tells the story of the Nesenbach as a possible, impossible, invented and true story. The Nesenbach becomes an androgynous figure. Half man, half river. He is musically accompanied by Sirma Velichkova on the piano. The music reinforces, comments on and counteracts the scenery. It actively intervenes in the action, also lyrically. Gives the whole thing the necessary musical (water) color.
The Nesenbach, once a proud waterway through the Stuttgart valley, is now a sewer of no significance. Its sources have been built over, its course straightened and invisibly laid into the depths. Very few people in Stuttgart still know that the Nesenbach even exists.
But there are plans to revitalize the Nesenbach.
In addition to regional composers and songs (Silcher, folk songs), themes from other rivers (The Moldau, On the beautiful blue Danube) can be heard. Classical music (F. Chopin's Revolutionsétude), pieces from Pictures at an Exhibition and pop songs. From time to time, the artists start to sing. Sometimes the audience sings along.
