Jan Hofer - Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!

In times of fake news and uncertainty, Jan Hofer is an outstanding authority on reliable news reporting.

As presenter and chief spokesperson for Tagesschau, he has become an institution in the German media landscape. He is regarded as the epitome of trustworthy information and also shines with his wide-ranging knowledge.
His popularity is also reflected in surveys: among other things, he was named Germany's most popular news presenter by the Emnid market research institute.

In addition to his work in the news business, Jan also devoted himself to presenting TV talk shows. His first major station was the NDR talk show before he enriched the German media landscape with the Riverboat format in the early 1990s. The program became one of the most successful talk shows and achieved outstanding ratings with market shares of up to 30%. After 21 years and 415 broadcasts, he passed on the moderation in 2012.

He also imparts his profound knowledge in countless lectures as a sought-after speaker and presenter, mainly in the areas of "the news behind the news" and business.

In December 2020, Jan said goodbye after 36 years as chief anchor of Tagesschau.

As a true media professional, however, he was happy to take on the next challenge: In 2021, he was a contestant on the RTL dance show "Let's Dance" and reached fifth place. Shortly afterwards, he took on responsibility for setting up the new news magazine "RTL direkt". For three years, he shaped the program, which quickly secured a firm place in the German media landscape.

Jan has also built up a considerable community on social media with his likeable manner. Together with his wife Phong Lan in particular, the two inspire their following with a great deal of humor and provide insights into their life together on Mallorca.
