ZIRIUS, IZKT of the University of Stuttgart and the Daimler and Benz Foundation invite you to the Stuttgart City Library: experts discuss how water scarcity can trigger conflicts in Germany in the future - and what can be done about it.
Water is one of the most important raw materials on earth. But what if it becomes increasingly scarce in the face of climate change and future extreme weather events? What consequences can we expect for our water supply and water management? Do we have to be prepared for conflicts between industry, agriculture, households and nature conservation or can we anticipate conflicts at an early stage?
At the event, central theses on the expected area of conflict "water" in Germany will be presented. We cordially invite you to discuss this with us. The event is part of the Ladenburg College "Future Water Conflicts in Germany (ZuWaKo)" funded by the Daimler and Benz Foundation. The interdisciplinary research project was coordinated by the "Center for Interdisciplinary Risk and Innovation Research (ZIRIUS)" at the University of Stuttgart. During the period from 2022 to 2025, potential water conflicts in Germany were researched.
