The Young Waldorf Philharmonic inspires in the Beethoven Hall of the Liederhalle Stuttgart with young, talented musicians from all over Germany and beyond. The orchestra impresses with its sophisticated classical repertoire and fresh, lively interpretations.
The Junge Waldorf Philharmonie (JWP) is a project orchestra that has been in existence since 2004 and brings together young, talented musicians from Germany and abroad. It is supported by a purely voluntary organizational team made up entirely of young people. They plan and organize the rehearsal phase and concerts over the course of a year - without any state support. The orchestra itself only comes together for two intensive weeks to develop a challenging concert program under professional guidance and present it at the highest level.
Founded in 2004 by Sebastian Brüning, a former pupil of the Gutenhalde Waldorf School, the JWP offers a concentrated yet collaborative rehearsal atmosphere. The work is carried out under the direction of experienced teachers and conductor Patrick Strub, who has been shaping the musical level of the orchestra for many years.
The final concert in Stuttgart in the Beethoven Hall of the Liederhalle is the highlight of this year's work phase. The program includes:
- Overture to the opera "Nabucco" in F major by Giuseppe Verdi
- Double Concerto for Clarinet and Viola in E minor op. 88 by Max Bruch
- 10th Symphony in E minor op. 93 by Dmitri Shostakovich
The soloists are Midori Kusakabe (viola) and Niklas Malcharczyk (clarinet). The program combines Italian operatic tradition, romantic chamber music in orchestral form and a central symphonic work of the 20th century.
What is special about this concert is the combination of youthful energy, professional musical work and a rare combination of works, which offers the audience a varied and at the same time profound concert experience. The result of two intensive weeks of rehearsals can be felt in every moment - in the precision of the ensemble playing as well as in the enthusiasm of the performers.
Tickets for the concert are available in advance and at the box office.
