One collection, many stories.
The Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen archaeological collection is one of the most important private collections in southern Germany and is now being shown for the first time in the Old Palace. Created in the 19th century, it combines a passion for collecting on the part of the nobility with scientific curiosity. The exhibition is dedicated to the formative personalities behind the collection and shows fascinating finds - from ornate Roman silver discs to Apulian vases.
Visitors are invited to take a fresh look at the past: What were the motives behind collecting? How did it shape archaeology? And what significance do these objects have today?
A separate area encourages reflection on the history of science.
